The Municipality of Pylos has been integrated into the Municipalities of Nestoros, Koroni, Methoni, Chiliochoria and Papaflessa, with the prospect of creating the new Municipality of Pylos-Nestoras with its head office in Pylos. The extent of the new Municipality is 551.94 km ² and its population amounts to 23.780 inhabitants according to the census of 2001 NSS.
